Pre-Conference Workshop on Meeting Unmet Needs
Participation in the workshop is open to anyone interested in discussing how services could be delivered to people with ME/CFS and related illnesses in the years to come.
1:15-1:30 Welcome, Objectives, Agenda
1:30-2:30 Ontario Task Force on Environmental Health
The Ontario Task Force was appointed by Ontario's Minister of Health to look at gaps in services for Ontarians with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and Environmental Sensitivities/Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. Their year-1 report made a number of important recommendations.
Dr. Ray Copes, Chair, Ontario Task Force on Environmental Health will provide an overview and a short update. This will be followed by questions on the report and discussion of what has been learned in other jurisdictions.
2:30-2:45 Break
2:45-3:15 Diagnosis & Treatment Protocols for ME/CFS & FM
Margaret Parlor, President, National ME/FM Action Network will provide a status report. This will be followed by questions and discussion.
3:15-4:20 Care Pathways – what services and who provides them
Small groups will discuss how services could be provided in the years to come.The discussions will consider patient needs as well as system constraints.
4:20-4:50 Next Steps in meeting unmet needs
There will be discussion of what immediate actions can be taken to advance services.
4:50-5:00 Closing Remarks
